CHANGES!!

Sorry it's been awhile since we updated the blog but a lot has happened in the last month and we have been trying to keep our head above water.  JJ had surgery #4 in January.  Good news is he is cancer free at this point.  Praise the Lord!!!  Bad news is the bone isn't healing and that will probably mean going through several more surgeries including his original big surgery again to replace that bone again.  He will also have skin surgery (surgery #5) next week to help cover bone that is able to be seen through the skin.

After JJ returned home from surgery #4 in January, we had some difficult conversations about our ability to continue walking out this process living in 2 different places.  This process has put a significant amount of stress on us as individuals, our marriage, our kids, our 8 boys, and our community in Mexico.  Along with the B2B leadership we decided a couple of weeks ago to move back to Cincinnati in order to walk out JJ's healing and medical process together as a family.  It was a super difficult decision but one that we feel God has led us to for the long term health of everyone involved.  Leaving our boys and our community in Monterrey makes us extremely sad but we trust in God's plans for us and the boys and know this is the best decision for all of us in the long term.  

Much of the future is foggy at this point and we desire to return to a Spanish-speaking country to serve orphans in some capacity.  For now JJ will be working for B2B in the home office.  He is excited about working with the home office staff and how he can contribute to the ministry using his talents and gifts here in Cincinnati.  We have found an apartment in Landen (near the B2B office) and will be spending the next several days moving in and taking care of details regarding the move.  We have missed our support system here and we look forward to spending time with friends and family.
